An American White Pelican was found in Narraganset Bay in December of 2004. At the end of the month, it moved to Winnapaug Pond in Westerly. By mid February, it had expired.

A breeding plumage Curlew Sandpiper was found on the Ninigret Pond tidal flats at the Charlestown Breachway on July 15, 2004. It was seen again the following day.
