Rhode Island Checklist

This checklist lists all of the birds that have been recorded in RI as of December 2007. The list is based on the 48’th supplement of the American Ornithologists’ Union’s “Check-list of North American Birds” and the Audubon Society of Rhode Island’s 2002 “Checklist of Rhode Island Birds”. This list also contains a few birds that have been seen in RI since the 2002 checklist was published and are still awaiting official recognition from the Rhode Island Rare Birds Committee.

In the spreadsheet versions of this list, the “AOU48” column refers to the bird’s position in the American Ornithologists’ Union’s checklist, and the “ASRI2002” column refers to the bird’s position in the “Checklist of Rhode Island Birds”.
