Black-headed Gull - Scarborough Beach south, Narragansett

Second adult which is "larger" (probably a male) than the second bird which is smaller in size. This bird shows extensive salmon color tinged "staining" of its plumage located mostly on its breast, chest and proximal ends of p9 and p10. This bird also has a larger auricular "spot" and more pronounced "straps" over its head. See image Dec. 22, 2012.
