A big, white-winged gull flew across the bow of the ferry as we left the harbor. Jan balked asking if we had seen its bill (she was late to the party). I didn't, and therefore hadn't added originally, yet Linder is convinced. So am I. Intestingly, a small white gull with characteristics of a Glaucous was seen by many at Napatree in mid-July. There has been much debate about this bird (leucinistic Herring, Nelson's hybrid, very small Glaucous), and it remains a mystery.
