Sign Up and Sign In

On the top-right of this site there is a link that allows you to "Sign in". By signing in, you can post photos and comment on photos. Signing in also allows you to keep track of your RI year bird sightings using this site.

If you are a new user, there is a "Sign up now" link on the sign up page that allows you to create a new account. It's free, there are no advertisements and the only information you have to enter is your name as you want it to appear with your posts, and a password of your choice.

This site is not part of the yahoo RIBIRDS group, so you will have to sign up to this site separately.

Note: Users of the year-bird-list application prior to 2013 will need to sign up again. Users that signed up in 2013 or later do not need to sign up again to enter bird sightings for the current year.

Posting Photos

Once you are signed in, you will be able to post photos into the Birds2024 gallery. To post a photo, choose the Birds2024 gallery from the "Bird Photos" link in the sidebar. Then, click on the "Post" link in the upper-right of the gallery, enter the required information and then click the "Upload Photo" button. Photos will automatically be scaled to fit within 800 x 800 pixels.

The intent of the Birds2024 gallery is to show photos of rare or unusual birds in RI during the year. Although I'm sure your Mute Swan photo is wonderful, this is not the place to post it.

What is a Rhode Island Year Bird List?

A Rhode Island year bird list is a list of bird species you have observed in Rhode Island in a calendar year. Each species is only counted once. So, if you see a Northern Cardinal on January 1, you add it to your list for just that day regardless of how many more times you see that species during the year.
